CATAP Awards

CATAP confers two awards:

• AWARD #1: Contribution to the Field of Threat Assessment in Canada and Abroad
• AWARD #2: Contribution to the Growth and Advancement of the Canadian Association of Threat Assessment Professionals

Awards are presented during our annual Workshop & Conference.

RETURNING FOR 2025! We are also pleased to announce two CATAP Travel Awards for attendance at the 2025 Annual Workshop & Conference!

AWARD #1

Contribution to the Field of Threat Assessment in Canada and Abroad

This award recognizes an individual who has made substantial contributions to the field of threat assessment in Canada and abroad. 

The award winner will receive:

• A complimentary registration at the CATAP Annual Workshop and Conference the year the award is granted.
• A letter of recognition from the CATAP President.
• An engraved plaque. 
• Their name and image published on CATAP social media and website.

Eligibility:

• Nominated individuals must be active CATAP members in good standing. 
• Nominators must be active CATAP member(s).
• Nominee submissions will be voted on by the CATAP board of directors, and winners selected. 
• Self-nomination is permitted. 

Winners must permit CATAP to publish the award and an image on CATAP social media (LinkedIn and Twitter), and website.

Contribution to the Growth and Advancement of the Canadian Association of Threat Assessment Professionals

This award recognizes an individual who has made substantial contributions to the growth and advancement of CATAP.

The award winner will receive:

• A complimentary registration at the CATAP Annual Workshop and Conference the year the award is granted.
• A letter of recognition from the CATAP President.
• An engraved plaque. 
• Their name and image published on CATAP social media and website.

Eligibility:

• Nominated individuals must be active CATAP members in good standing. 
• Nominators must be active CATAP member(s).
• Nominee submissions will be voted on by the CATAP board of directors, and winners selected.

CATAP 2025 Travel Awards

CATAP is pleased to offer two awards in the form of a 50% discount off the registration fee for those traveling to attend the 2025 Conference and Workshop. 

Eligibility and other information:

• Applicants must be current members of CATAP in good standing
• 'Priority will be given to applicants who have a financial need, as indicated by ineligibility to receive full funding from an employer and those who are not receiving other financial support or consideration from CATAP for attendance at the 2025 Conference and Workshop.
• Applications must include information detailing eligibility for the award, as well as any other information relevant to prioritization. 

Deadline for submission:  Applications CLOSED.

Award winners will be notified no later than September 7, 2025.  Winners who have already paid for registration will receive a refund of 50% of fee paid; others will be permitted to register at a reduced rate.
